An anonymous testimony from one of our current students:
Every year we send out Contact Teams to ACOP churches for weekend ministry trips. Before we go out, the College spends time in our chapel services praying for the teams. When our contact team was prayed for I felt the Lord say “When you go door to door make sure you ask everyone if they need healing for anything.”
My team went to Nipawin, SK, where we were doing door to door ministry on Saturday in a small town outside Nipawin. We were asked by the church to hand out information cards about the Nipawin Apostolic Church. I was with another student and it was very cold outside. We walked up to a grey house just as someone was leaving. I thought “Oh this person is about to leave.” As we walked up the driveway a lady comes from around the corner and is surprised to see us, so she shrieks. Because I am goofy like that, I shriek back, which causes her to laugh. Then she asked us what we were doing, so I said “Oh we are going around door to door and asking if people need healing for anything, or prayer for anything.” She paused and looked at me “Really?” And I said “Yes!”
She looked shocked and said to me “This is so weird! Last night I got really bad chest pains; it hurt so much that I had pain in my back. I almost phoned 911 last night…..” I asked her, “Well can we pray for healing for you?” She agreed and invited us into her house. Once inside I asked her, “Can I put my hand on your shoulder?” She told me to put my hand on her back where she still had pain. I started to pray and immediately she felt her back get very hot. I kept my eyes open and I could see how stunned she was by what was going on. When I finished praying I asked her, “Did you feel the heat in your back? How does your back/chest feel now?” She was shocked! “This is so weird…..how did this happen? My chest…..my back…” So I asked if I could pray again and she said yes, so we prayed again and she was in a state of shock when we finished praying.
Then she shared a story about how she lost her brother and it led to this event when her and her three sisters went to a charismatic First Nations service. In this service a lady prayed for the same shoulder and she felt heat in her shoulder and she was healed, but the condition had since come back. As she finished the story she began to cry and said “I don’t understand how this happened…..this is so weird!” She began to cry more and more. Then I asked, “Do you think if we were five minutes later then we were today….would you have left your house? She replied yes as she continued to cry, so I said “That shows us that Jesus wanted us to meet you today because he loves you so much that he would send us to show you his love.” She ended up taking one of the church cards we were handing out, and said, “I am going to my friend’s birthday party tonight and I am going to read this and I am going to tell all my friends about what Jesus did for me.”
Please pray for this woman that she will go to the Church in Nipawin and get connected there, and that she will get saved and discipled and lead her friends to Jesus!
