We had another great outing at the South Saskatchewan River. We enjoyed getting to know the new students and had an amazing time of hearing testimonies of God's faithfulness. Check out the slideshow below for pictures from the outing.
Alumni in Ministry: Jane Galbreath
Jane did her degree at Eston College from 2006-2010. Since then she has been involved in a variety of ministries, especially Street Invaders. She lives in Saskatoon and works as a health care professional.
Do you ever have those moments when you are in awe of how far God has brought you? You look at where you were in life, then where you are now and you can’t quite figure out how God got you there! Looking at myself today I am staggered by God’s redemptive power. I came to Eston College in 2006 as an upbeat, passionate young women but internally I was barely hanging on. I had overwhelming emotional and spiritual baggage from being a victim of sexual abuse. Soon in the caring, spirit-filled community of Eston College, I began to unravel. You see it is impossible to sit in one of those classrooms and learn about God without it impacting the deepest parts of your life. Each lesson spoke to my brokenness while pointing to where I needed to go, my Savior. Isn’t it beautiful how the Holy Spirit works in our lives! As well, the Holy Spirit knew I couldn’t do it alone. While in school, I was surrounded by professors, staff, and friends who told me there was hope and also demonstrated that hope to me... Click here to read the rest. Read the Old Testament With Our Freshmen Students
We invite you to join with our freshmen students as they read through the OT this semester. To get started, choose one of the following tools:
iOS users (iPhone, iPad): download the app "ReadingPlan" (pictured to the right). It is a great Bible reading app because it links to your normal Bible reading program and provides daily reminders to do your reading. Once you have downloaded the app, go to "Settings", tap "Reading Plan", tap "View Available Plans", tap "Eston 2013-2014". Calendar applications (Outlook): download this file and open it with Outlook or your preferred calendar program. Web browser: to access this reading plan on the web bookmark this webpage. |

Kendall Bachtold, a recent student (2005-2007) shares her favorite memory from Eston College:
"One particular experience that stands out were the days of preparation leading up to Encounter weekend. The whole college was transformed, from top to bottom, in order to host youth from all over Western Canada. It was spectacular! Even though it was a lot of work, it was an amazing experience for all of us to spend time together working towards a common and worthy goal! There were many moments throughout the preparation days when prayerful music was played on the sound system throughout the college and everyone stopped what they were doing to sit and rest in silence and listen to the Lord's voice." Submit your favorite memory or life-impacting story. We will publish submitted material in future editions of Life Express. To say thanks for helping us spread the word about what God has done at Eston College we will send you a FGBI alumni pin!
