Encounter 2015 Jr. High Report - Jo-Anne Pullar
Having directed Jr. High Encounter the year before, Nicole and I knew that God had something amazing in store for this year's event. What resulted was beyond what either one of us could have imagined.
Andrew and Monica Switzer, pastors from Kipling SK.. spoke passionately and powerfully about our theme Kingdom Come based on Matthew 6:10. The two of them convincingly shared about the way God's kingdom pertains to our daily lives. All of the 100+ participants experienced the sweet presence of the Holy Spirit and many in attendance received freedom from bondage of sin that had entangled them. The weekend concluded with a strong evangelical message where everyone was challenged return to their homes and schools and share Christ. It was absolutely moving when all In attendance stood and pledged to proclaim the gospel In their hometowns. We want to thank you for your prayers. "Challenging but rewarding..."
The following in an excerpt from a paper submitted by one of our students: "My first taste of what it is to live as a devoted disciple of Christ came from the discipleship class I enrolled in. While it was highly rewarding, it was also the most difficult and challenging class I have taken at Eston. Throughout the weeks I experienced great victory and frustration and was pushed far beyond my level of comfort. My confidence as a Christian, however, began to soar. I was stretched and I grew in my faith and it made me want to go even deeper. I discovered that succeeding as a follower of Christ, gives you a hunger for even more of Him. Before starting this class I did not know what it meant to be a disciple or what discipleship meant, but now I have the confidence that I can and will continue living a discipleship lifestyle with the help and guidance of the Lord."

An FGBI History Trip
In this special legacy episode of Rocket to 30, Josh and Nathan dip into some FGBI (Eston College) history. We focus on three of FGBI’s early teachers: G. S. McLean, Lorne Pritchard, and Alan Mortensen.
Interviews were conducted with three previous or current employees from the college who knew these teachers well; they are: Bob Stone, Evelyn Dolan, and Willard Mitchell. A digitized sample of these messages taken from old tape cassettes has been provided. The entire message is available in the college’s library should you be interested.
